Project: The Evolution of Edge Design & Construction
About Edge Design & Construction
Edge Design & Construction is a premier design-build firm based in Las Vegas, Nevada, known for bridging the gap between creative vision and construction precision. Unlike traditional general contractors, they operate under an “Integrated Design-Build” philosophy—managing everything from the initial sketch to the final coat of paint under one roof.
Their Values:
- Relationships First: Their motto, “Build relationships on the foundation of integrity,” isn’t just marketing copy; it’s their DNA.
- Transparency & Process: They value clear communication, aiming to demystify the complex construction process for their clients.
- Versatility: They are as comfortable with high-end, moody hospitality spaces as they are with sterile, functional medical offices or luxury residential remodels.
High-Profile Work: Edge has shaped some of the most recognizable spaces in the Las Vegas valley. Their portfolio includes:
- Hospitality & Nightlife: Distinctive venues like Lucky Day Bar, We All Scream, Cheap Shot, and Table 34.
- Retail & Commercial: High-traffic spaces for major brands like Pandora (MGM Grand & The District) and TNT Pawn.
- Luxury Residential: Custom remodels and builds in exclusive neighborhoods like Summerlin and Dragon Ridge.
The Challenge: A Portfolio That Couldn’t Keep Up
Several years ago, we designed the initial Edge website. At the time, the goal was a clean, “gallery-style” site that got out of the way and let the finished work speak for itself. It was a success and served them well.
However, as Edge grew, the site began to lag behind their reality.
- Missing Context: The “gallery only” approach showed what they built, but not how they solved complex problems to build it.
- Outdated Catalog: Their most innovative recent work wasn’t represented.
- Invisible Process: The site implied that buildings just “appear.” It failed to capture the grit, the engineering, and the on-site problem solving that truly defines Edge’s value proposition.
The Solution: From Gallery to Narrative
For the second redesign, we didn’t just update the aesthetic; we re-engineered the content strategy to align with their maturity as a firm. We moved from a “passive portfolio” to an “active storytelling” platform.
The “Work in Progress” Gallery We introduced a dedicated section to showcase the “messy” middle. By highlighting projects currently under construction, we accomplished two goals:
- Demystifying Construction: Showing the framing, the rough-ins, and the on-site collaboration that leads to the polished final result.
Deep-Dive Case Studies We transformed the portfolio from a grid of images into case studies. Now, each project page tells a story.
Distinct Sector Funnels Recognizing that a restaurant owner and a homeowner have different needs, we segmented their expertise into clear focus areas:
- Commercial & Hospitality: Highlighting their ability to create atmosphere and brand identity.
- Tenant Improvements (TI) & Offices: Focusing on speed, efficiency, and ROI for business owners.
- Residential Remodels: Emphasizing craft, care, and personal touch for private homeowners.
The Outcome
The new Edgenv.com retains the clean, professional visual language they are known for but adds a layer of depth that was previously missing. It is no longer just a brochure of pretty buildings; it is a testament to a company that values the process of building just as much as the final product.
