G Suite (Gmail for Business) Price Increase Notice
In January of this year the Vice President of Product Management for G Suite, David Thacker, announced that Google intended on raising their pricing, which had remained constant for over a decade. As Google continues to develop more ways for your team and business to collaborate in real time with secure, intelligent tools, your business is able to be more efficient and successful. With over four million organizations using G Suite, it’s easy to see why a price increase was long overdue.

The incremental increase in price announced on their blog that these prices will take effect on April 2, 2019. Perhaps this decision is to avoid any association with April Fools Day pranks that the major Internet engines are famous for creating.
What Are The Changes
Beginning April 2, 2019, G Suite Basic will increase by $1 making it now $6 per user/month and G Suite Business Edition will increase by $2 making it now $12 per user/month. These new list prices will go into effect for customers on Flexible or Monthly plans, but for customers with Annual Plans they won’t see the new increase until their plan renews. No, there is not currently a way to add years at the current rate. The only way you can keep the price at the lower rate is if you are currently on the flexible plan and choose to pay for an annual plan, which will increase in price upon renewal.
Annual Plans for Discounts
If you have been paying annually to receive a discount, no need to worry. The same discount for annual plans will correlate with the new pricing. This discount equals two months of user fees when the year is paid up front. In other words a Basic plan will go from $50 per user/year to $60 per user/year.
