As a marketing company we see online trends that are threatening to forever change traditions around our favorite season’s holiday. So, before you change tradition, here are the 5 biggest social media trends we see threatening that change.
3 Social Media Sites Changing Holiday Tradition
This less than 140 character posting giant may be the reason for less in person connection this holiday season with the replacement coming in the form of indecipherable emojis and #MerryChristmas. Even U.S. President hopeful @RealBenCarson got in on the trend this year tweeting the following pic and caption.

Forget about a holiday newsletter from Aunt Gladis this year as more people than ever take to Facebook to post their “Christmas Card” and annual update. More and more people are simply choosing to make a longer post as their holiday statement from the automatically generated “Year in Review.” Don’t feel guilty for sending this, we liked it too.
Posting that family picture to Instagram may very well be the new way of sharing in everyone you know’s holiday fun. From Ugly Sweaters to Santa Hats, they are available in abundance, and for that Grinch they are able to be turned off.
While everyone is enjoying their holiday season this year, we hope to see more people put their social media and phones down and take a moment to spend time, with the people they love.
Wishing you Peace and Joy this holiday season, from your friends at Hunter Marketing Group.
